The Shemag or Shemagh (orthography varies according to language) is a handkerchief for the head or neck respectively, made of 100% cotton, protects against dust, sand, sun, wind and cold and can also be used to cover or camouflage equipment.
The Shemag of Arab origin (Palestinian land) was used by British soldiers after World War I 2 in Europe.
